A Message from Fr. Pat Regarding Ongoing Questions about His Health
August 21, 2025
If you are over 45, you may have heard the saying, “Getting old ain’t for sissies.” There is a lot of truth in that expression, and we know it’s just a matter of time before our bodies require more attention than they did in our youth. Fr. Pat is no different. To address any undue concerns and troubling rumors, Fr. Pat has agreed to share what he is currently facing.
About eight months ago, he began experiencing the usual aches and pains of aging, which became more pronounced, prompting him to seek treatment. After several tests, he was advised that he needed carpal tunnel surgery on both hands.
As of today, he has successfully undergone surgery on his right hand, with the left hand surgery scheduled for the near future. Additionally, both of his knees require attention, but those procedures will take place only after the carpal tunnel surgeries are completed.
Fr. Pat is going to physical therapy for both his hand and knees. While the improvement is gradual, there is progress. Many parishioners have stepped in to help during this time—thank you for your support. We may not always notice the effort he puts in because we see him every day, but he is working diligently to get back to normal.
Like many of us, Fr. Pat often puts others before himself. However, rest assured that he is following the right path to healing; it’s just a journey that will take time. Patience is a virtue for both Fr. Pat and all of us.
Your prayers and support are essential during this period. Updates will follow as needed.

If you would like to provide Fr. Pat with a meal, we are utilizing an online signup to coordinate these meals. If you’re interested in signing up, use the link https://takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=OKPO4692. The signup allows you to view his preferences and see what others have selected to ensure he enjoys a variety of meals each week.
The meal program is intended for Fr. Pat only, so there’s no need to make more. Please, we are looking for one meal a week. He does not have a lot of storage space in his refrigerator/freezer. Any meals can be delivered to the Parish office located at 1800 N Wisconsin St., Port Washington, WI 53074. The parish office is open Monday-Thursday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm and Fridays 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
Please ensure that everyone has the opportunity to sign up. If we do not have a meal planned by Monday, feel free to take an extra day. Meals should be delivered in disposable microwaveable containers when possible. All meals delivered have been delicious and appreciate. Thank you!
