Holy Water Fonts

With the recent repainting of the vestibule areas, the marble holy water fonts (4), each of which had fallen into serious disrepair, were removed.  Given marble font replacement costs ranging from $10,000 to $13,000, the St. Mary’s Maintenance Committee formed to manage a $253,000 donation made for maintaining this site has decided to buy four new high polish bronze fonts for $3,000. Understanding the change from marble to metal fonts may be a disappointment for some parishioners, we are willing to go the marble route should someone be willing to make up the price difference of $7,000 to have four new marble fonts (identical to those that were in the middle vestibule) made at a cost of $10,000. Should you be so inclined, please contact Bill Henkle at 262-284-4266 ext.1418 ASAP. Absent such a response, the new bronze holy water fonts will be ordered on Monday, January 27.

Vestibule/Gathering Area Reflooring

Hopefully, before the end of this month, the existing carpeting in the vestibule and gathering areas will be removed and replaced by new vinyl flooring. Given the disruption caused by this work, it will be necessary to relocate our Wednesday and Sunday St. Mary’s Church Mass services to our other church sites, and to cancel the Wednesday Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction service, perhaps for two weeks. We can’t, however, definitively set the flooring installation schedule, until the necessary materials have been delivered. Once that happens, we will be sure to inform all parties concerned as soon as possible via further bulletin, Signs of the Times, and/or pulpit announcements.
